Help Your Neighbor
About the Challenge
With the beautiful landscape of Fall, comes the potential struggle of maintaining your yard once the trees shed their leaves. Though raking can seem like a simple task, to those with mobility limitations this can become very daunting. Extend a helping hand to a neighbor in need and rake their leaves.
Items Needed:
- Rake
- Trash bags or wheel barrel to move or dispose of the leaves
Challenge Directions
1. Go to your neighbor, introduce yourself if you have not formally met, and ask them if you can help rake their leaves
2. Grab your supplies and get raking! Begin sweeping leaves into piles
3. Then take leaves somewhere to dispose of them. Depending on your area there could be different procedures, but if you know someone who composts, consider giving them the raked leaves. Old foliage can be a great layer for composting!
4. Snap a picture of your work to upload in the "Share Your Results" form
5. Complete a "Share Your Results" form to earn your challenge points.
